This is Natasha David's original 2014 recipe β€” a Sazerac riff that uses Giffard Banane du BrΓ©sil as a subtle seasoning agent rather than a dominant flavor. The split base of Pierre Ferrand 1840 Cognac and Old Overholt rye nods to both the Cognac and rye traditions of the classic Sazerac.
